These are old fashioned, chewy, and delicious! Definitely a staple in any recipe book.
Ingredients
1/2 cup soft shortening
1/2 cup butter
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons milk (if needed)
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. In a large bowl cream the butter, shortening, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together. Add 2 eggs. Combine until well incorporated.
3. In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together. Add to the sugar and egg mixture. Mix. Add 2 tablespoons of milk if the dough does not come together very well.
4. Roll into balls and flatten (put traditional peanut butter cookie fork marks on the top if desired; shown on picture above). Place on a pan about 2 inches apart. Bake about 10 minutes.
